caracol, to luff at any lull

I saw them flying. If
The wind got brisk and blew
Their breastbone fluff apart

They reeled, sideslipping,
Then each would caracol,
To luff at any lull.

I saw them reeling, each
easily righting itself
And flying, flying on.
